Template:Wikisource The Petition to the King was a petition sent to King George III by the First Continental Congress. The petition expressed loyalty to the king and hoped for redress of grievances relating to the Intolerable Acts and other issues that helped foment the American Revolution.

The Second Continental Congress issued a "Second Petition to the King" in 1775, known as the Olive Branch Petition.
